BASP's (Air Force Base in São Paulo) anniversary in Guarulhos

The BASP (Brazilian Air Force Base of São Paulo) - Guarulhos - had it's first Open Gates to the public on last 17th of September of 2011 to celebrate it's 70th anniversary. The Base is located on the runway track of the International Airport of São Paulo, in Guarulhos, and allowed visitors to see takeoff and landing of regular commercial aircrafts, wich was a good opportunity for those who likes to take good pictures.

To visit the event, was free, but visitors were asked to bring one kilo of food. Everything then would be donated to a charity institute.

All visitors could see:

• Military Aircraft Static Displays
• Speachs
• Competitions
• Model Airplanes
• Ballooning
• MEdical and Dental activities
• Old ilitary vehicles parade
• Show with military dogs
• Bands and sweepstakes
• Recreation

Due to our good relationship with the Air Force, Avionics Services was asked by Lt Col Jorge Luiz Av Schwerz, base sub-commander, to expose our products and services to the community. We left a Military Helicopter Simulator available for visitors play and learn more about the commands of this type of aircraft. beyond the simulator, we showed to visitors and Air Force Officials our expertise and history of works we performed for the Air Force, like the modernization of the Hercules C130.

The event was well attended by authorities, government agencies, family members and friends of the base, other forces, businesses and the public in general.

As Avionics Services is a part of the Brazilian aerospace industry, one of our goals is to support the Brazilian Civil and Military aviation market.
